Scuola Secondaria di I grado del Collegio Villoresi
Tutor Teachers

Each pupil will be supported by a tutor teacher who, during the three-year course, will accompany the pupil in facing the challenges of learning and discovering his or her own talents. An educational tutor is always available for pupils and families to support them in dealing with the challenges of growing up.

Multilingualism and its value

The value of being a citizen of the world and being able to communicate without limits. An 11-hour English language practice per week, all delivered during school hours with the help of mother tongue teachers.
The programme involves all students at the Monza premises, while at the Merate premises it is necessary to pass an orientation test.

Project base learning

A didactic proposal, activated at the Merate site, which enhances planning between disciplines, interaction between knowledge and teaching based on skills.

Active Learning

A teaching approach, implemented at the Monza site, which enhances the learning styles of the students and a more active methodology in the delivery of teaching activities. A teaching proposal that includes the use of digital platforms (Microsoft Teams) to support pupils also in their personal work at home.

Educational Goal

At Villoresi, innovative methods are used to help children discover their talents. In addition, the approach offered aims to train true citizens of the world.

  • Digital competences: One To Cloud project, learning productivity tools and informed use of technology

  • Language skills: in English (multilingualism pathway level B2)

  • Civic and social competences, linked to the various interdisciplinary and extracurricular initiatives

  • Learning to learn: with the support and guidance of dedicated teachers and tutors

  • Spirit of initiative: linked to the methodological approach built on Project Based Learning and Active Learning

For the growth of the pupil

Aware that families are a support and reference point for the child, at the Collegio Villoresi we consider it essential to have an ongoing dialogue with them, both through school interviews and through open school and more informal meetings.

    Growth awareness

  • A series of guidance activities support students in identifying their own identity, in developing autonomy in their choices, in becoming more aware of their talents and weaknesses. This will help in the orientation towards secondary school.

  • During dedicated training sessions, the children will be approached and educated on some central issues for this stage of development, such as socialisation and prevention of bullying and education on affectivity and sexuality.

  • The child is guided along a path that teaches respect for others in a spirit of civic co-responsibility.

  • The child will learn to apprehend and plan for the future by building strategies to achieve it.

  • Not just for study: the Collegio offers educational enrichment programmes, both in the pre-school and after-school areas, in various fields (sports, art, digital, etc.).

Highlight

In the three-year period of lower secondary school, pupils are encouraged to work together through shared projects, which go beyond the boundaries of their own class group, beyond the fence of disciplines and even beyond our country.
